The Fountain Fleet is a supervised school collection and transport service based in South West London. We collect children directly from school and transport them safely by electrically assisted cargo bike to their home, club or agreed destination.
All journeys are pre-booked by parents or legal guardians.

We operate in Barnes, Hammersmith, Fulham, Chelsea, Roehampton, and Chiswick, and surrounding areas in South West London. If you’re unsure whether your school or home is within our collection zone, please contact us and we’ll confirm.

Children travel in purpose-built, electrically assisted cargo bikes designed specifically for safe passenger transport.
Our bikes:
Are professionally maintained and road legal
Include secure seating and safety restraints
Undergo routine safety checks
Are operated by trained adult riders

We transport children from reception to year three, subject to weight and height and safety assessment.

Yes. We offer both termly scheduled collections for our members and ad-hoc bookings, subject to availability.

All termly bookings are made online by a parent or legal guardian. A valid membership is required before any booking can be made.
Payments are processed securely via our third-party payment provider. We do not store full card details.

Once you are a member, visit our booking page to check availability and register your child for the relevant term. All bookings must be made online by a parent or legal guardian.

Yes. All riders:
Hold enhanced DBS checks
Receive safeguarding training
Are trained in first aid
Follow strict supervision and collection protocols

Before any service begins:
We receive written consent from a parent or legal guardian
Written consent must be given to your child’s teacher
We record authorised collection and drop-off details
Emergency contact information is logged
During collection and transport:
Your child will be collected from the agreed meeting point at their school. The exact location is arranged in advance and may vary depending on the school.
Direct supervision throughout transit
Confirmed handover at the destination
Parents receive updates upon request.

We follow a clear safeguarding escalation procedure:
The agreed collection point is checked
Parents or emergency contacts are contacted immediately
The school is informed where appropriate
Children are never left unsupervised.

Our bikes are designed for UK weather conditions and include protective coverings.
In cases of severe weather (e.g. Met Office warnings), services may be adjusted or suspended for safety reasons. Parents are informed as early as possible.

In the unlikely event of an incident:
The child’s safety is prioritised immediately
Our riders follow the correct safeguarding and safety protocols
Emergency services are contacted where necessary
Parents are informed without delay
A formal incident report is completed
We hold appropriate UK insurance, including public liability and employer’s liability cover.

If behaviour compromises safety:
The rider will follow a de-escalation protocol
Parents will be informed
We may review the suitability of continued transport if safety cannot be maintained
